Local lovely ladyfriend, Yadira, knits these gorgeous cowl neck scarves.  

Last year I swooped up a bunch of them and gave them away as holiday gifts.  

She makes hats and gloves as well... 

She's a supermom, working girl, fashion blogging, crafty lil sweet heart. 

Keep your eye out for her goods which, when available, are usually sold at Cuffs ( j & 26)  

they are large enough for multiple heads - cozy up!!

Or do they?  I'm referring to user manuals.  Yesterday I scored a Canon AE-1 film camera from a garage sale in perfect condition.  One quick google search for "Canon AE-1 user manual" was all it took to find the original user manual available online.  Check out these gems below.  I love the all hand drawn graphics.  

And here's the camera I scored.  Can you believe I got this camera + a rad camera bag (see below) + 4 lenses, one being a prism lens + various filters + cleaning supplies all for 10 dollars!!  

I am so excited to develop the first roll and see how this baby works.  I got really lazy with the convenience of my iphone and my digital camera - and now I'm totally ready to dive back into film.

Meet my new adopted word.  You can go to savethewords and adopt your very own word. NPR ran a bit about this yesterday and I couldn't resist checking it out.  They say each year hundreds of words are dropped from the English language, so here is an effort to keep them alive.  When you adopt a word you are supposed to be making a commitment to be using the word in an effort to keep it alive.  

There are loads of words on the website to chose from.  I like mine.  It stuck out to me in the midst of all the other words... First off, I'm hot for the letter g.  Secondly, I love that it's got hints of the word glamorous, yet so far from the meaning of it... 

Even blogger has my word underlined with that little red squiggly line indicating it doesn't believe it's a word... hmm.

I have a confession to make... I am completely obsessed with a city I have never been to (yet).  This isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened.  Take my love affair with Paris for example.  So far, in this lifetime, I have been lucky enough to visit quite a few countries, but I have yet to explore the country of France, and well, Paris.  Yet, somehow, I feel so certain I would fall head over heels...

While Paris is hopefully one day in my future, Palm Springs happens to be a bit more in reach.  And currently I am OBSESSED.  I can't stop myself from browsing through books, magazines, and blogs dedicated to Palm Springs, the design, the architecture.  There's something about the vast dry crazy hot desert, combined with this really mid-century modern design that is sending me over the edge.  I have to go.  As soon as possible.
