oh, and this.

TRAILER: MIRANDA JULY’S JON BRION-SCORED THE FUTURE
Our first glimpse of THE FUTURE, artist/writer/director Miranda July’s follow-up to her charming 2005 feature debut, Me and You and Everyone We Know, arrived tonight in the form of the JON BRION-SCORED film’s official trailer above. If you’re a fan of July, Brion, or an occasional indie dramedy, not to mention Beach House songs (“MASTER OF NONE”) in TRAILERS, this promising preview is well worth a spin. The Future hits the big screen this summer.

overboard -

I spent most of the weekend sick in bed.  Whenever I am sick I crave the following:

pho
+
80s movies

Lucky for me, Zeina had just gifted me 2 DVDs - Overboard + Best of Cosby Show Episodes!
And we ordered in some veggie pho!

Check out major babe Goldie in Overboard.  The outfits are so hot - major high cut 80s swimwear!!

the next american dream

The Next American Dream is being shown at the Crest theatre in Sacramento tomorrow evening.
In short - it sounds like a documentary around the need to redevelop and rebuild the downtown locations that were once deserted during the time of the former American dream to dwell in suburbia...

Sounds interesting to me.  I tried to find ticket prices with no luck, and read something that alluded to it maybe being a free event?  Apparently, the group who is bringing this viewing to Sacramento would like to remain unknown, which has triggered a bit of skepticism.  See comments here.

Either way, I'm intrigued and plan to check it out.

well la di da ...

Do you have that one "go-to" film that you turn to in times when you need a pick me up?  A film you can rely on to escape from your world, from stress, from a bad mood?  Mine happens to be Annie Hall.  I think I've watched it a trillion times.  Sometimes before a meeting or big presentation (like this morning!) that I'm feeling overly nervous or stressed out about - I hop over to youtube and watch some Annie Hall clips, and I am instantly calmed, and any anxiety seems to feel less severe.  Her style in this movie is killer - and well, has made Annie Hall a bit of a style icon through the years. At least for myself and my wardrobe.

Oh Annie, I lurve you...

And here's a link to Diane Keaton winning an Oscar for her performance.  youtube would not allow me to embed it here, so follow the link and check this out!!  SOO cute.  Love her.

'...i fed them pop tarts...'

Eli and I stayed in Friday night and watched "Earth Girls Are Easy."  Remember that one?  Hilarious 80s movie!  And Geena Davis is a mega babe.  Loving movies that break out in the occasional (or frequent) song and dance!  I love that everything is available on youtube these days!  Check out the trailer below.  And here's the NY Time's review of the flick from 1989.  So rad.

p.s. it is available on Netflix instant viewer right now!!
